So I FINALLY got my first easel and I'm soooo excited, even though it takes up most of my room! Except I'm struggling with figuring out how the chart paper is supposed to go. It seems kind of like a hassle to flip pages. Can anyone describe how to put the paper on the rings or send me a picture (I don't think you can post pictures as a comment so via email is just fine). Please please help so I can enjoy my new toy!! :D
I have a similar easel and I just rest the chart paper on the blue ledge and don't use the rings.
ReplyDeletemaybe try hanging the chart paper on the front hook instead of the back? I don't know, I'm not lucky enough to have one of those!
ReplyDeleteI have a similar one also. Mine came with those rings you show in the picture and other smaller rings. I hook my paper tablet on the smaller rings then flip the sheets I've used over into the middle part to get them out of the way. :)
ReplyDeleteThe hooks baffled me too...I'm not sure how to use the big hooks effectively, so I'm hoping someone comments and helps us both out!

I use the regular large notebook rings and it flips better. I use those hooks that you show for pocket charts.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how wide that bar is, but I use big butterfly clips to hold my chart tablets up on my smaller easel. You're so lucky to have one of those easels!
ReplyDeleteI use the hooks to hang pocket charts and frequently used posters (punched with holes and held with a book ring.) I just rest the chart paper on the blue chalk ledge. I love my easel! It's great! I push it all around the room. I use it on the carpet for group instruction and then push it over to my guided reading table for small groups. The storage underneath is awesome too! Best thing I've bought so far!!
ReplyDeleteI have the exact same easel (I LOVE IT!). I use the same rings as yours- you just need to flip them around! =)
ReplyDeleteI have tried a couple of ways, but it just depends on what I am doing at the time. I have taken the front and back covers off of the tablet paper, put a large ring through the holes inthe chart paper and hooked it onto the large rings on the easel. I have also used a wooden dowel through the spiral rings, hooked a ring onto the end and then on th easel rings.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Jessica...Take the rings off, turn them around 180 degrees and you should be in business. I have the same easel and love it!

Since I couldn't get my chart paper to hang right either, I decided to stick two 3M command hooks to the top of the board on the easel and hang the chart paper on those from the little holes. Works like a CHARM!!! Then I attached two clips to the very top and I clip my pocket chart over the chart paper when I need it. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI have a VERY similar easel Jessica & Stephanie are right you just have to flip the rings over.

Wow! So many great ideas, thank you to everyone who responded :)
ReplyDeleteI'm currently using Donors Choose to raise funds for an easel because I don't have one and need one. I'm so jealous! It sure is purdy!
